Remember when Avatar was being made? All that talk about the amazing 3D technology James Cameron helped pioneer… which actually turned out to be quite amazing? Well guess what, we’ve hit the point where it’s actually being used as a marketing ploy – yes that’s right the highest grossing film is now being used as a means to market other films. Yesterday at Wonder Con, Screen Gem’s unveiled the world premier of the following teaser trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife, which features every cliché action trailer moment, including a remixed rock song (A Perfect Circle), slow motion, breaking glass, gun slinging, and flash forwarding text touting “Advanced 3D technology”.

So they stole the music from the Repo Men trailer, and the reverse shooting scene from Matrix Reloaded. I have nothing to say about this movie other than “cha-ching”.
